Dear Parents, Guardians, Friends and Family,
Today our class was visited by all kinds of strange people...there were pirates, a motorcycle rider, Hermoine, a cowgirl, a panther, Minnie Mouse...and a whole lot more. We played games. We played musical hats and find the puzzle pieces and put them together, and even a relay race with eyeballs. Ewwww! Pablo even brought a crazy monkey to class.
On Wednesday we went to see Oliver at Balboa Park. Oliver was a show about a boy named Oliver who was sold to an undertaker, ran away, and then found by his grandfather.
That's all for now.

Pablo and Colin plant flowers in our garden.
Dear Parents, guardians, friends, and family,
Today we planted our fall vegetable garden. We planted squash, beans, potatoes, carrots, spinach, radishes, onions, and broccoli. It was fun! We even planted our own seeds to take home and grow. We expect to harvest our first crop in late December or early January. We think the radishes will grow the fastest.
For Red Ribbon Week we learned about different kinds of drugs and illegal drugs. We learned about marijuana and cocaine. These drugs can harm you or even kill you.
Juan lost a tooth today! He has a big gap in the front now.
In art some of us are finishing our imaginary animals and others are working on a positive/negative haunted house or pumpkin collage.
P.E. is really fun this year. We've learned how to play scoop ball. prisoner, and capture the flag so far. Today we played kick ball.
In writing we are working on narrative paragraphs. A narrative paragraph has three main parts-a topic sentence, body sentences, and a closing sentence.
We are learning like champions!
Until next week...

Hello Parents, Family, and Friends,
We've been SO busy the past few weeks that we haven't found time to write our weekly blog. Here's what we've been up to.

Today we had our Red Ribbon Assembly which kicked off our Red Ribbon Week, October 19th to 23rd.  At the Red Ribbon Assembly we met two dogs who are really smart. They help capture bad guys by finding drugs hidden in cars, trucks, and other places. A special Homeland Security helicopter even landed on our playground. It had to leave early though to go and help chase the bad guys. At recess one of the agents even handcuffed Ali to his best friend, Brandon.

In math we are wizards at splitting arrays to solve multiplication facts. We can solve problems lots of different ways, such as drawing equal groups, building arrays, or drawing number lines.

This week we started Literature Circles. Lit Circles are like book clubs. Each group is reading a different book. We meet once or twice  a week and discuss the book.

We published our "How To" texts and we are putting them altogether into a class book.

That's all for now!
From,
The Students of B-12
