Sharing Me Collages
We've spent the last two weeks reading Judy Moody by Megan McDonald. Judy is a third grader and funny, moody, surprising character. Her third grade teacher assigns the class a Me Collage. The collage is supposed to tell the class all about the person. So last week the students in our class made and shared their very own, fabulous Me Collages with our class. Each one was wonderful in its own way. You can check out all the collages on our photos website. Good job everyone!

So how are your Moon observations going? Take a minute and post to our class blog. What are you observing? Anything interesting you'd like to share with the class?
Check out this Moon calendar on the FOSS website http://fossweb.com/modules3-6/SunMoonandStars/activities/lunarcalendar.html. It shows you what the Moon looks like on any given date.

Sun observations
We've started our first FOSS science unit titled the Sun, Moon, and Stars. Last week we tracked the Sun's movement throughout the day. We discovered that the Sun appears to move across the sky from east to west by drawing pictures of our partners pointing at the Sun. Next we'll observe changes in our shadows...that is once the weather clears up and we can actually see the Sun.
Check out the fun activities on the FOSS website at http://fossweb.com/modules3-6/SunMoonandStars/index.html.
