Thanks to our Three Sisters Garden we have an abundance of zucchini. Mrs. Renly helped out and made zucchini bread with the students in the class. The bread was delicious. Thanks Mrs. Renly!!!!!!

What a terrific job students did on their sculpture projects. We created sculptures using a piece of wood, a wire coathanger, and a ladies pantyhose. This is abstract art and students envisioned their sculptures as many different creatures or objects...like fish, birds, ducks.

Our Three Sisters Garden is growing in leaps and bounds. Every time we visit the garden we're astounded at home much the squash has grown. We're hoping to make zucchini bread next week from our harvest. We picked the first zucchini last week and ate it fresh with a little Ranch dressing. Now that's one huge zucchini!

We've been wondering what or who's been eating our garden veggies and fruits? And, look what Mr. Phillip caught in one of his traps last Friday. What is it and what do you know about this creature? Is he native to San Diego? Have you seen one before?

Dear Parents and Students of B-12:
WOW! What a wonderful treat to be so spoiled by you during Teacher Appreciation Week!  Every day was something different and a nice surprise. I’m so grateful to all of you for making me feel so special and appreciated. The gift cards are amazing and will be put to use quickly. I’ve already purchased a lovely planter some tomato plants, and an array of herbs from Home Depot.

I can’t believe that summer is upon us. I feel like we just celebrated Winter Break. This time of year is full of mixed emotions for me. I’m sad to say goodbye to all the familiar faces that I have nurtured, loved, and taught since September but happy to send my students off knowing they are ready for next year. This group of students is an amazing bunch. I’ve been able to do so much with them because they are so cooperative, kind, smart, and motivated. But summer is almost here and we’ve all worked so hard (including you) and we deserve some time to slow down, unwind, and enjoy the best San Diego and summer has to offer. It has been a wonderful year and I am truly blessed and lucky to have taught your child this year. Thank you for all your support this year both in and outside the classroom. And again, THANK YOU for the wonderful gift cards and goodies.

Love,

Mrs. McKelvey
